Easy Heat 3′ Automatic Pipe Heating Cable. It has a surface mounted snap action thermostat that activates heat only when needed, saving energy. It heats to 7W per foot, for a total of 21W or 175A. Suitable for commercial and residential metal or plastic water supply pipes vulnerable to freezing, it is approved for rigid plastic and metal pipe up to 1-1/2 inch diameter. The cable consists of tough XLP inner insulation, a continuous ground braid, and weather-resistant PVC outer jacket. It keeps water flowing down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit and is UL Listed to Canadian Safety Standards and CSA certified when used in accordance with instructions on water-filled metal or plastic pipes. It is recommended to use HCA application tape or good quality electrical tape with a high-temperature rating of +176 degrees F. Comes boxed.
